Privacy Policy
biquote serves public market prices. It has no user accounts and does not need to know who you are. This page explains the little it does process. It covers the biquote website, API, streams, widgets and the biquote add-ins for Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel and ONLYOFFICE (the "service"). Last updated 6 October 2026.
What we process
When your browser, code or spreadsheet calls the service, we receive request metadata: IP address, time, the endpoint and symbols requested, response status, user agent, and an API key if one was sent. We use it only to run, secure and rate-limit the service and to understand aggregate usage. We keep it only as long as needed for those purposes.
We do not ask for, and you should not send, any personal data. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers.
Google Sheets add-on
The add-on fetches prices from biquote.io for the formulas in your spreadsheet. It requests these Google permissions:
- View and manage the spreadsheet it is installed in (
spreadsheets.currentonly): to write a formula into the cell you select from the sidebar, and to keep one hidden cell (BIQUOTE_TICK) that makes formulas refresh. It does not read the rest of your spreadsheet and cannot open any other file. - Connect to an external service (
script.external_request): to request prices from https://biquote.io. Only symbol names and currency codes from your formulas are sent. No spreadsheet content, names, email addresses or other Google user data is sent. - Display content in a sidebar (
script.container.ui): for the symbol search and converter panel.
The add-on does not access your Google account profile, email, contacts, Drive or any other Google service. It stores no Google user data on our servers. Its requests reach biquote with Google's network addresses, not yours. Prices are cached briefly in Google's Apps Script cache, which is shared by all users of the add-on and contains only market prices.
biquote's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Excel and ONLYOFFICE add-ins
The Excel add-in and the ONLYOFFICE plugin run inside your spreadsheet and fetch prices from https://biquote.io for the formulas you write. They send only symbol names and currency codes. They write to a cell only when you click Insert in their panel, and they do not read your workbook's other content, your Microsoft or ONLYOFFICE account, or any other file. Prices are cached in memory while the workbook is open. The ONLYOFFICE plugin stores the source of its two formulas in your browser's storage so they keep working after a restart.
Removing the add-on
Google Sheets: uninstall it from Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons, and revoke its access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. You can delete the hidden _biquote sheet from any spreadsheet at any time. Excel: remove it under Home → Add-ins → My Add-ins. ONLYOFFICE: remove it in the Plugin Manager.
